New School Year – 2006
We are three days into the school year and already things are getting hectic. I never understood exactly how busy the Media Center could be. This week I have learned. We are making some major changes – trying to open up the room and weed out some older material. There is a lot of organizing going on and I believe it will make it more convenient and functional for the students and staff.
I have heard for some time how crowded CBA was – but until I experienced it, I did not know exactly what that entailed. We have 14 “educational cottages” out back. My first teacher workday I got stuck in the middle of these trailer park and it literally took me a while to figure out I had to go back to the beginning, back into the building, through the hallway and back outside to another whole set of ramps to get into the other half of the units. Talk about confusing. The kids look like salmon fighting the current in the hallways but they grin and bear it. That is a testament to their maturity and perseverance.
Yesterday evening over 200 members of our community gathered to discuss the issues affecting the schools of northern Wayne County. Memebers of the Board of Education and County Commissioners as well as our own Advisory Council discussed the needs of our area schools. With all hope this will lead to a bond referendum being issued and passed that the taxpayers can afford that will benefit all the students of Wayne County.

My url (very young site) is still just in slovenian language and is about the sience and pactice in the field of pedagogy and andragogy. My profesor (degree teacher - mentor of my final task at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts), who is internationale active is dr. prof. Robi Kroflič, working in the field of theory off "upbinging" and education (CICE 2003, 2005).
Among others he is recovering two slovenian authors Stanko Gogala and France Veber, two of leading thinkers in ´30s, from slovenian young university (since 1919).
About Gogala´s understanding of upbringing and education was my lately work.
Thank you for yours attention, I´ll try following your internet site.

"... in order to form a more perfect Union."
I´ve just get it.
comment:
S. Gogala (1901-1987) is inpiring writer in the field of pedagogy before second world war (papers in years 1925-1940). He is deducting from Veber´s philosophy in two ways off effective teachers work. First is a concept of "doživetje" as experience that consistently changes ones way of behaveour in everyday life, in way that changes ones persistent impulse, that is main pricipal of ones resolutions. Second way is throught the awareness of comunity structur and it´s very affective power of influence on individual evolution in positive way or as you stated: "for more perfect Union".
To answer first question, this is time of Hitler´s disaster!: Gogala is a strait humanist, he as a person is held in fond remembrance among still living students, now experienced teachers and professors; he managed not to interfere his personal belives (christianity) with his profession, even in times of comunist and socialist government.
Mybe one day, I will able to translate one of his original texts in wich he show to theology and cristian pedagogy, how to combine truthful personal belives or recognition of Christ´s
"good leasons" and modern pedagogy, BUT whitout to young people so repulsive obligation that are provided by strict church or other comunity rules.
Thanks, wishing you a nice day.
