Last Nine Weeks

Teacher Cadets.jpg

We took our Vocabulary Test for Unit 10 yesterday. One group used the eInstruction system while the other had the old paper and pencil test. I am unwilling to do the fun stuff with groups who are not working to their full potential. We had some young ladies from the Teacher Cadet program at CB Aycock come and visit with us. They had never taken part in the eInstruction program so they were really impressed. As future educators I want to show them the tools that are available to make life in the classroom more productive where they can spend the time working with their students.

Marvin Daughtery came and spoke with us about Severe Weather Week and really shined some lights on the upcoming Hurricane Season. Warm weather we all love causes the oceans to heat up and these monster storms are created. I know we all hope this season is a lot less active than last year.

Today we had a Tornado Drill. It was funny to say the least. If you do not remember this drill – it is the one where you get down on your knees and tuck your head between your legs.

The 4th nine weeks is beginning and we are seeing some of the (for lack of a better word) pathetic work habits creeping in. I will be assigning After School Detentions to these students who refuse to do their work. I am very willing to stay after school every day of the week in order to force them to complete their assignments. It is a shame that it has to come to this, but alas this is where we are.

I think that the reason we didn't get to take the vocabulary test on the e-instruction was so sorry. Too bad that some people had to ruin the fun for all of.

I think that it is better that you stay after school even (though I wouldn’t want to have detention) but if I got detention for homework I would always do my homework from then on!

When it was Tornado Drill, I didn't know what happen it is ..Because in Hong Kong we don't have to do that..so i am so happy that i can come here and try everything that i never try in school!

The writing one is just the same but with no fun. I wish some people could work honestly.

I do not like to sit butt crack to butt crack while a tornado drill - at least they are short. The drills are only bad for three minutes.

This last nine weeks will be fun because after this year I get to go to the 8th grade which will be really fun. You should go to the 8th grade next year so that you can teach me again. That would be great because you are a great teacher.

Teacher Cadets loved your class, they are fighting over who gets to come see you next.

Keep up the good work and come see us sometime!

We had two new teacher cadets come in our class today also.

The Unit 10 vocabulary test was really easy.
