Baseball Vocabulary
There is an air of excitement around Norwayne as the Spring Break holidays are right around the corner. And the kids are pretty excited too!
We did a vocabulary review activity today that we borrowed from Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Lierly called Baseball Vocabulary. The kids picked up teams and compete against each other to see who knows the most about the definitions, synonyms and antonyms, parts of speech, and pronunciation of this vocabulary unit. From their comments and NOISE I think they had a pretty good time. Attached at the bottom of this blog are the Game Board and the “Rules” as .pdf documents so that you might better be able to see the work we were enjoying.
The All-Stars are well represented on the Hoops for Heart court today and will be tomorrow. I promised Josh I would get plenty of pictures so they will be in an album this evening. It is a great thing that Coach Andrews does with the Hoops for Heart. She teaches the kids how to have a GREAT time and do a wonderful community service project. Last year Norwayne was the 8th highest fundraiser in the state of North Carolina! It doesn’t show up on any EOG’s but it shows up in the character of the individuals that we are helping to raise up. Thank you Coach Andrews for your hard work and dedication to this worthwhile cause!

The baseball vocabulary that we did was fun - it was the funnest thing that we have done since we've been doing vocabulary.
I hope that we can do it again!
I hate that the book test is our test instead of the e-instruction - too bad.

The baseball vocabulary was fun, my teammate and I almost won, but we lost by one point.
The Hoops for Heart thing was great and my team was almost in the big game but we lost to Josh's team.

Baseball was a very interesting way to help us study for our test while having a blast.

I think doing the baseball vocabulary helps me a lot. It makes me remember them more.
