A New Grading Period
A new week, a new grading period, a chance to begin again. Today we began fresh. We spent the day talking about the Electoral College compared to poplar vote. It is a difficult subject for adults to comprehend much less kids. We have read from our Junior Scholastic magazine to get a better understanding of the issues and people who are involved. I attempted to break down the parties into generalizations that the kids could understand. I believe this is the easiest way to introduce them to the political system in order for them to make up their minds where they stand. Towards the end of this week we will participate in the Scholastic Online Election and we hope to be able to participate in the Channel One poll also.
In Social Studies we are wrapping up our ABC Vocabulary Book. We will be learning about the Judgment Scene and compare it to our own beliefs. Then it is our final project which culminates in and African Cookie the size of a pizza.
