A Long Weekend! :-)
In my classroom every student has an extra job. Some are extremely diligent in their efforts such as the Librarians in Ms. Cox’s homeroom and the display committee in mine. This is the bulletin board the Display Committee created for last month. We were studying Egypt with my social studies group and they decided to show their excitement for everyone to see. Surrounding the board are cartouches with the students names written in hieroglyphics. Many of the books that I have collected over the years are on display for further research and many of the kids have checked them out to look through them. On the left is a story half written in hieroglyphs and half in English. Several pictures from King Tut’s treasures are displayed as well as a huge pyramid. I get a lot of compliments on the monthly changing bulletin board from other teachers and I am always excited to brag that my kids are to be complimented, not me.
We are learning about the Presidential candidates and are preparing to cast our online votes next with our Junior Scholastic magazine. We are discussing issues and ideals and the students will have to make up their minds from there. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many of them are keeping a watchful eye on this contest and are educated and opinionated about the candidates.

Ms. Cox is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Because she answers all our questions and explains the problems to make them simpler. Mr. Person is also because he let's us have fun. Since social studies is coming up I hope it's not hard. Also hey Mr. Person this is Jason Seeley.
